Dining Out for Life: AIDS Foundation Houston

Tonight is the annual fundraising event that benefits AIDS Foundation Houston. For this event, participating restaurants in Houston unite with others across the nation in the fight against HIV/AIDS by donating 33% of the food bill.

Always on the Come Up...Creepin'.

Bone Thugs n Harmony at HOB 2nite??! Yes.

It's been eight long years since all five members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony recorded an album together. Flesh-n-Bone spent most of the past decade behind bars, and Bizzy Bone left the group owing to "creative differences." The gang is back together and ready to drop its latest album,Uni5: The World's Enemy, in late May. In honor of this reunion, BTNH will be touring 34 cities this spring — quite a testament to the loyalty of their fans. The quintet from Cleveland has long been known for its tongue-twisting verses and harmonic hooks, which were refreshingly unique and trend-setting in the '90s. With multiple awards and a catalog of classics like "Tha Crossroads" under its belt, anticipation of the upcoming project is running as high as ever.

Blues and Burgers, in the Park.

If you are looking for something to do tomorrow, APRIL 21, 2009, why not head over to Discovery Green (1500 McKinney).

Discovery Green will be putting on an event called Blues and Burgers, featuring blues artist Little Joe Washington! The event, which is free to the public, will give attendees the chance to enjoy Houston's best in blues music with a lunchtime concert. If you will be in the Downtown area, the fun will begin at 1:30 pm.

Inprint Brown Reading Series.

TOMORROW, APRIL 12. Inprint Brown Reading Series Presents Dorianne Laux and Patricia Smith*

Celebrate National Poetry Month with a reading by two American poets, Dorianne Laux and Patricia Smith, who will appear at the Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series. Laux - whose most recent volume is Facts About the Moon - looks at motherhood, sisterhood and, especially, sex. "Her work is fresh and full of life," according to Rich Levy, Inprint's executive director.

Smith is a four-time National Poetry Slam champion and was featured on television'sDef Comedy Jam as well as the documentary film SlamNation. "Her latest collection, Blood Dazzler, focuses on Hurricane Katrina and its impact on New Orleans before, during and after the storm," Levy continues. It was also nominated for the National Book Award.
